My Chickens Photograph Competition
We have a lively chat forum and ran
a photograph competition in April 2008 entitled "My
Chickens". The winner was chosen by the members, who
could place one vote for their favourite.
It's a shame there could only be one
winner - the standard of entries was so high. All the
photos were just brilliant.
The winner was "Slowef" who won a copy of Organic
Poultry by Katie Thear with this lovely picture of
a chick entitled:
"Anyone for a game of hide and seek then?"
Silkies new chick just 6 days old, ahhhh

Coming a close second, was this photo by "mduel"
Sebright in the Snow
Our sebright cockerel braved the 3 inches of snowfall
earlier in April. Managed to get this shot of him in
the sunshine. No eggs that day from the hens - they
did enjoy their porridge though!

Tied in third place we had two photos. Our member
'babe' is known for being, in the best way, a bit mad.
Poultrygeist submitted his chicken looking pretty cross
to me.
This is Fraggle at Bedtime, by "babe"
I'm ready for bed mum!
Little Fraggle is my only chook i hatched from an
egg, so will always be my baby

Next we "Poultrygeist's" entry.
Open the gate and nobody gets hurt
Negotiations were under way during the first week
of arrival

All the entrants were brilliant and this is the rest
of them, in no particular order. Clcik the image for
the full size version (where available)

who doesn't know if she's a she or a he! She/he
grew her large comb and wattles at the same time

half the size of the rest of the Amberlinks we
