Experience with chickens:

I've been keeping chickens for years and have worked on a rare breeds poultry farm, as well as keeping my own.

I am a Registered Veterinary Nurse with an interest in diseases and treatments for poultry which I have researched. Whenever my chickens have been unwell, I have
been fortunate enough to have been able to ask Veterinary surgeons with some of the best radiographers and imagers in the world performing radiographs and ultrasonography for me to help diagnose and treat them, with much success.

I have worked in general veterinary practices and referral centres as a veterinary nurse. I have also been lecturing for the last 2 years, in veterinary nursing.
I have taught a course about treating chickens in veterinary practice which was very well received and have teaching qualifications.

Recently I delivered all of the staff training for Wood Green Animal Shelters about chickens, their care, rehabilitation of ex-battery hens and illnesses etc. This received very positive feedback and I was also asked to help them design their new housing facilities/isolation pens etc. as well as leaflets for the general public.
