Chicken Keeping Courses & Training
Chicken Keeping CoursesAlthough keeping chickens at home is not tricky, it can be a bit daunting if you've not done it before. A good book, like Katie Thear's Starting with Chickens makes an invaluable reference, but some practical experience is invaluable. Long time chicken keepers tend to simply take it for granted that people new to chickens some how know quite naturally how to handle and look after them etc and that's obviously not the case. Keeping any animal means you accept the responsibility of looking after them correctly and especially if it comes to dispatching a hen, whether injured or for meat, a demonstration is far more help than any book can be. This is a new section on the site and I hope to make it a useful resource for our visitors. If you know someone offering courses on keeping chickens, please let them know about these pages. If you have a web site, I'm happy to swap links - just enter your information here - and if not, then contact me with details of your courses, how people can contact you, where the courses are held, how much they cost and some background information with regard to your qualifications. I'll then put up a web page for you. Just take a look at the chicken keeping course in Cambridge page for a guide.
