Duck, Goose and Waterfowl Feed
The Smallholder Range was launched in 1999 to provide naturally healthy
feed to smallholders, and anyone keeping poultry and animals on a small
scale. Approved by the Vegetarian Society (free from animal products
and gelatine-coated vitamins), Smallholder Range Feeds are available
for poultry, ducks & geese, turkeys, sheep, goats, pigs and cattle,
with products available to ensure healthy, natural progression to
adulthood.
As a matter of policy, we have taken a positive attitude
towards producing non-genetically modified feed. We use only identity
preserved soya and maize grown from non-GM seed. Whilst these
crops are not guaranteed, we feel we have taken every possible precaution
to ensure that you have the minimal exposure to any possible GM
presence. We show all our ingredients on our labels.
Another aspect that makes these feeds stand out from the ordinary is
the back-up and support that is available with them. Membership of the
Small Holder Club (free on application) entitles members to feeding guides,
seasonal tips and other general advice on an ad hoc basis. A feeding helpline
is also available for those questions that you have always wanted to ask
but were never quite sure about!
Smallholder Range Feeds are made by a family-owned, independent
animal feed manufacturer based in the heart of Norfolk , with four generations
of experience in making animal and poultry feed. Our feeds are produced
in a non-GM and Drug Free Mill (no antibiotics, no coccidiostats, no artificial
growth promoters, no wormers and no artificial yolk pigmenters), which is
quality assured, approved by the UKASTA Feed Assurance Scheme, and licensed
by the Soil Association.

| These starter crumbs are a high energy diet that will get waterfowl growing well straight from hatch. From a day old until about 3 or 4 weeks old, these will give the best start and provide all the essential nutrients needed for this stage of growth, in a convenient form. Ducklings can be allowed to eat at will, so fill troughs/feeders once a day and allow free access to the feed. In an emergency Baby Chick Crumbs may also be fed to ducks or geese (i.e. when Goose/Duck Starter Crumbs are unavailable), though in general you should be very careful about feeding chick crumbs to ducks as some companies products contain an anti-coccidiostat which can be harmful to them.
